Our
Beautiful World - Vår vidunderlige verden
|

We were absolutely not dissapointed. And why should we be?
It only took about 15 minutes to walk in here from the parkinglot down on
the road.

Down the Navit-valley comes the Navit-river, through a tough and unapproachable
landscape. Above the difficult part, the river
is quiet, with several small falls and shallow pools, which gives contrasts
to the land, with motion, sound and colours.
The name, Røykfossen - Smoky watefall, is a good choice.

Down by the shore, there is a very old sawmill. Or should I say - a copy
of an old sawmill.
The original one was burned by the enemies during the second worldway, but
has been rebuilt
to show how it was in old days.

From here it was easy to send it by boats to where timber and planks were
needed.

The timber floated down the last part of the river, and was then sent
our to the right, above, and from there it went right down to the sawmill.

Otherwise, it would have to go here, and that was a bad decision.

So they made things like this to catch the timber, and leed it the right
way.

Anyway, it is worth a visit.
