1. The Award is issued by the Norwegian Radio Relay League
to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the dissolution
of the union between Sweden and Norway.
2. Any licensed amateur radio operator or short-wave listener
(SWL) who fulfills the requirements stated below may apply
for the award.
3. All contacts/SWL reports must be made between 2200UTC,
May 16th, 2005 and 2159UTC, June 7th, 2005. For the purposes
of this award, each Norwegian amateur radio station may be
contacted only once per band and mode.
4. To qualify for the NORGE 1905 award it is required that:
(a) applicants in Norway (LA-LN), Sweden, Denmark, Finland,
Åland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands have been in contact
with or heard (SWL) a minimum of 20 Norwegian amateur radio
stations. At least 10 of these must have been operating with
the special prefix LI and/or LJ.
(b) other European applicants have been in contact with or
heard (SWL) a minimum of 10 Norwegian amateur radio stations.
At least 5 of these must have been operating with the special
prefix LI and/or LJ.
(c) DX (Outside Europe) have been in contact with or heard
(SWL) a minimum of 5 Norwegian amateur radio stations. At
least 2 of these must have been operating with the special
prefix LI and/or LJ.
5. Application:
(a) QSL cards are not required. All applications must include
a log extract containing call of the station worked (heard),
date, time, band and reports sent/received.
(b) Send the log extract and award fee of NOK50 (in cash
or valid Norwegian stamps), US$10 or 8 recent, valid IRCs
to: NRRL, P.O. box 20 Haugenstua, NO-0915 Oslo, Norway Applications
must be postmarked by July 31, 2005.
6. The following endorsements are available at time of issue,
provided that all contacts in the log extract fulfill the
requirements: CW, Phone, Digimode and/or QRP (Transmitter
output power less than 5 watts). You may apply for several
separate awards with different endorsements, but each contact
in the log extract can only be used for one award. For each
additional award, an award fee will have to be paid in full.
Endorsements are available only at time of issue.
Sweden is following up:
All calls with the prefix SM: may use SE
All calls with the prefix SA: may use SF
All calls with the prefix SK: may use SJ
All calls with the prefix SL: may use SG
A similar award as the norwegian will be issued. More later.
